CFA's involvement in the planning process
CFA is involved in two main stages of the planning process: the statutory planning phase, including advice on subdivision, and strategic planning phase.
CFA also works closely with event organisers to make sure events in high bushfire risk areas of Victoria are planned and managed appropriately. Sometimes CFA is required to comment on planning permit applications.
Explore the pages below to learn more about our role in planning process and what to consider when seeking a permit to run an event in an area at high risk of bushfire.
