Our annual report provides an overview of the organisation’s achievements for the year.

It focuses on initiatives that support volunteers, community engagement to deliver fire safety advice, and research and innovation to strengthen our response capability.

The CFA Annual Report 2024-25 outlines the achievements of CFA’s volunteers and staff throughout 2024-25 and initiatives to support CFA’s vision, mission and strategy.

It focuses on measures to improve diversity and inclusion, provide equipment, infrastructure and programs which support our volunteers, enhance the resources to engage and prepare communities for fire, and build capability across the organisation.

Key highlights

Incidents and turnouts

41,925

incidents attended, with

81,940

CFA brigade turnouts.

Prevention and resilience

Education and awareness at 1,945 community events, 1,135 Property Advice Visits, and smoke alarm installations in 2,680 at-risk households.

Training completed by volunteers

  • 1,262 completed General Firefighter training
  • 1,838 completed Driver training
  • 818 completed Urban Firefighter training
  • 243 completed Incident Management Team (IMT) training

Fire Medical Response (FMR)

Operational from December 2024 with 20 brigades. By year end, 35 brigades were operating and CFA attended 80 FMR incidents.
Delivered in partnership with Ambulance Victoria.

Give Us a Hand campaign

Ran from May–June 2025, targeting brigades in areas with recruitment needs. We received 939 expressions of interest from prospective members.

Volunteer Recruitment Hub

Significant upgrades were delivered to the Volunteer Recruitment Hub.

Pocketbook app

Launch of the Pocketbook app.

Aviation Training Centre

The Aviation Training Centre at the Victorian Emergency Management Training Centre in Bangholme opened.

Stations and infrastructure

Three new stations completed at Natte Yallock, Beaufort and Irymple, with construction continuing at a further five sites. An additional 12 new stations are in the planning stage.
