Honouring CFA members

The extraordinary contributions of 11 past and present CFA members have been recognised with the off-road driver training area and several streets throughout the Central Highlands facility being named in their honour.

Street Names and Honourees

Allisey Track

The late Greg Allisey AFSM – a staff instructor at Fiskville, whose father Frank was an original Assistant Chief Officer who established Fiskville.

Broom Street

Graeme Broom AFSM – former Ballarat Brigade Captain for 10 years and a mentor for trainers in District 15.

Cleary Close

Jan Cleary – CFA’s first female group officer (District 11) in 2010 and went on to hold the position for four years.

Gerrard Way

David Gerrard AFSM – long-serving former Captain and Group Officer, former volunteer PAD Instructor at Fiskville and local to the area.

McLean Street

Max McLean AFSM – distinguished 58-year service to the CFA, highly respected member and trainer in District 16.

Morris Drive

The late Winsome Morris AFSM – the first female CFA member to receive an Australian Fire Service Medal (AFSM).

Pitts Drive

Dale and Joy Pitts – husband and wife team; Dale a long-term Captain, Joy the first female fire fighter at Wattle Glen Brigade. Both remain active in training.
