Summary
- The Central Highlands training campus is built to modern environmental sustainability standards, meeting requirements for environmental impact, emissions, and water management.
- Fire training uses LPG-powered simulated fires, reducing environmental impact while providing controlled, realistic training conditions with no residue.
- All training water is captured, treated, and reused on-site, with water quality tested fortnightly.
A commitment to environmental sustainability
The Central Highlands training campus has been built to the latest environmental sustainability principles. The campus is fully compliant with current standards for environmental impact, emission control and water management.
All fire-based training scenarios on-site use Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) powered simulated fire, reducing environmental impact and allowing for real-life fire conditions which can be controlled and adjusted to the skill level of the fire fighters. Additionally, there is no residue from the burning of LPG, and it is a cost-effective and readily available fuel.
The on-site water management system allows all training water to be captured, treated, and reused on-site. Regular fortnightly testing is undertaken.
