Environmental Sustainability

The Central Highlands campus has been built to the latest environmental sustainability principles. The campus is fully compliant with current standards for environmental impact, emission control and water management.

All fire-based training scenarios on-site use Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) powered simulated fire, reducing environmental impact and allowing for real-life fire conditions which can be controlled and adjusted to the skill level of the fire fighters. T, there is no residue from the burning of LPG, and it is a cost-effective and readily available fuel.

The onsite water management system allows all training water to be captured, treated, and reused on-site. Regular fortnightly testing will also be undertaken.

See how the water management system works at VEMTC Central Highlands.
