Home Visits

Property Advice Visit Service (PAVS)

Property Advice Visit Service (PAVS) is a free service offered to people whose homes are at the highest risk from bushfire in Victoria. A CFA member visits residents at home, offering practical ways to reduce the risk of losing their home in a bushfire, and guidance on how to make and implement a fire plan.

Talk to your local Brigade or District Office to see this service is delivered in your area.

Smoke Alarm Installation Service (SAIS)

This free service involves trained CFA members visiting people in their homes to install smoke alarms for people who can't obtain, install or maintain smoke alarms themselves. It's designed to reach community members who are at higher risk of death or injury in a house fire.

Talk to your local Brigade or District Office to see if you are eligible for this service.

Emergency Planning Advice Service (EPAS)

The Emergency Planning Advice Service (EPAS) is a conversation-based program. It is designed to support people who live with a disability, are older, or have a chronic or acute medical condition to create a fire plan. EPAS is an in-home based service where Red Cross and CFA facilitators visit you at your home. These facilitators can give you basic fire safety advice, answer your questions, and offer suggestions to help with your plan.
