Each year, close to International Firefighters’ Day, CFA hosts its Annual Firefighters Memorial Service to pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities.

Annual Firefighter Memorial Service 2026

The 2026 Annual Firefighters Memorial service was held on Sunday 3 May at the Victorian Emergency Management Training Centre, Central Highlands, Ballan.

The 2027 service will be held on Sunday 2 May at the Victorian Emergency Services Memorial in Treasury Gardens East Melbourne.

The memorial service provides an important opportunity for family, friends and colleagues to come together to honour and remember members who have lost their lives while serving.

Since 1998, the service has been held at locations across Victoria, including Bendigo, Wangaratta, Sale, Warrnambool, Shepparton, Lilydale, Leongatha, Stawell, Frankston, Myrtleford, Geelong, Beaconsfield, Ballarat, Wodonga, Churchill, Belmont and Treasury Gardens in East Melbourne.
