Fire Wise Kids offers five lessons delivered by CFA for kindergarten and primary school students, to teach kids fire safety. The program aligns with the Victorian curriculum (F-10 V2.0).

Who is it for?
Kindergarten and primary school students; 4 to 10 years old. Different lessons are available for each age group and are based on developmental levels.
Why Fire Wise Kids exists
Fire Wise Kids is designed to give kids age-appropriate information about fire safety, including how to help prevent fires starting. This is important as children under 12 are at high risk during a home fire or bushfire.
What happens in a lesson?
Fire Wise Kids lessons take place with a teacher present, in a classroom.
Trained CFA members deliver the lessons, adapting the content based on the age and developmental stage of the children.
Alignment to Victorian Curriculum
Each lesson has been designed to be developmentally appropriate and aligns to the the Fire Safe Kids links to Victorian Curriculum F-10 V.2 (PDF 484.3KB).

Fire Wise Kids is free.
Who runs Fire Wise Kids
Trained local CFA members who have a valid Working with Children Check.
Fire Wise Kids can be run in kindergartens and schools.
