Bushfire Management Statement (BMS) templates

Department of Transport and Planning (DTP), with support from CFA has developed standard templates that can be used for simple development applications, including new dwellings.

For subdivision proposals and more detailed or complex development applications, it is recommended that you consult with a bushfire planning consultant in the preparation of your application. More information on accredited bushfire consultants can be found on the FPA website.

Pathway 1 Bushfire Management Statement Template can only be used for an application to construct a single dwelling or carry out works associated with a single dwelling in the Bushfire Management Overlay and which meets all of the following requirements:

  • The land is zoned Neighbourhood Residential Zone, General Residential Zone, Residential Growth Zone, Urban Growth Zone, Low Density Residential Zone, Township Zone or Rural Living Zone
  • There is only one dwelling on the lot
  • The application meets all of the approved measure contained in Clause 53.02-3

 

Templates

 

A Bushfire Management Statement is not required to be submitted when you make your application under a schedule to the BMO, providing all the relevant requirements have been met. You will however be required to submit a Bushfire Management Plan in support of your proposal.
