Community Led Action Plans

Community Led Planning (including Community-based planning) is an approach that supports communities to develop their own localised risk reduction plans.

community discussing action planCFA's Community Led Planning demonstration project began in 2012. It involved 17 high-risk communities, who each developed their own, localised plan with the support of a CFA facilitator.

The trial found that communities, when supported, are in the best position to lead activities that result in a stronger, more connected and prepared community.

CFA has also successfully partnered with Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) and other emergency and local government agencies to trial this approach in many communities across Victoria. This approach has helped communities to lead and develop their own plans for emergency preparedness and resilience.
