Please do not donate goods. We are overwhelmed by donations in our relief centres and it is diverting resources away from critical tasks.

The best way you can help impacted communities is through financial donations.

Who should you donate to?

There are a number of different ways you can donate to support the firefighting effort in Victoria depending on how you would like your money to be used.

CFA offers two options for you to support us in our mission to protect life and property– either at an all organisation level or at a more local or Brigade level.

To request a receipt from CFA please email your name, address, date of deposit and amount to donation-receipt-requests@cfa.vic.gov.au

I want to donate to CFA to continue the work they are doing to protect lives and property in Victoria

Country Fire Authority Public Fund
Deductible Gift Recipient status (DGR) Item11

Money donated to the CFA public fund is used to fund new initiatives such as research programs, development and supply of new education and community information materials as well as direct support to brigades where it is needed.

I want to donate to help CFA Brigades fund their work in the local community

CFA & Brigades Donations Fund
Deductible Gift Recipient status (DGR) Item1
Registered Charity with ACNC 2

Your money will be directed to help fund the work of Brigades in the local community. This includes equipping the brigades with trucks and safety equipment as well as funding community programs and initiatives to prepare the community ahead of the fire season. You can donate generally or to a specific CFA Brigade or group of your choice.

You may wish your donation to support the communities affected by fire or to support the welfare of firefighters and CFA is promoting two non-CFA options to support this.

I want to donate to affected families and communities

Victorian Bushfire Appeal

The Victorian Government has partnered with Bendigo Bank and The Salvation Army to establish the Victorian Bushfire Appeal, with 100% of donated funds going directly to communities in need.

I want to donate to support the wellbeing of the volunteer firefighters

Volunteer Welfare Fund

Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria (VFBV) has a Volunteer Welfare Fund which makes small grants on a needs basis to CFA volunteers, long serving former volunteers and their families, who are experiencing significant financial hardship. The grants are designed to alleviate stresses that can affect the individual’s ability to continue as a volunteer.
