CFA is a volunteer and community based fire and emergency services organisation. It helps to protect 3.3 million people and more than one million homes and properties across the state of Victoria.
CFA falls within the State Government portfolio of the Department of Justice & Regulation and reports to the Minister for Emergency Services.

The CFA develops a range of policies and practices. Where appropriate as they are developed, mechanisms on the CFA’s website are used to inform the public on the policies and initiatives.
Members of the public can also write directly to the CFA seeking information on any aspect of its operations. Correspondence can be addressed to either the Chairperson of CFA or the Executive Director of the relevant business unit.
