Fitness tests

Firefighting can be physically demanding, involving dragging hoses, climbing ladders or lugging equipment. You will need an above-average level of strength, aerobic fitness and endurance to be successful in the selection process, and on the job.

All applicants must meet set benchmarks for the Beep Test and Physical Ability Test as part of the selection process.
