Cover of Temporary storage of dangerous goods document This document provides advice to organisers of public events on safe systems of work for the temporary storage and handling of dangerous goods.

These guidelines set out the Australasian Fire Authorities Council's (AFAC) preferred position on the temporary storage of dangerous goods at public events such as motor races, power boating events, air shows, fireworks displays, and conventions and exhibitions.

The guidelines cover such areas as: general safety, emergency procedures, emergency and safety signage, housekeeping and training, spillage control, storage requirements, and fire protection. They are to be used in conjunction with any and all statutory requirements.

Available free on request to event organisers, fire services, researchers, relevant industry and business bodies. Please include credentials when requesting this document.
