CFA Brigades service First Attack Fire Equipment including all styles of extinguishers and lengths of fire hose. Servicing is completed to the relevant Australian Standards and Building Regulations by qualified service technicians.
Fire Equipment Maintenance (FEM) is a service provided by CFA brigades as a means of assisting their communities and raising funds for the brigades. The service is delivered in accordance with the Regulations and relevant Australian Standards.
FEM brigades provide Fire Equipment Maintenance to a vast range of clients. There is both a service and an inspection within a 12-month period to address the requirements of the relevant Australian Standard.
In order to provide support to Brigades. The CFA has an FEM Office that provides support and administration for the FEM activity and is located in Bendigo. CFA also has Community Safety Officers located in Ballarat, Melton, Morwell and Bendigo who support the FEM activity.
