CFA works together with many other organisations. This section
of the website aims to explain how CFA works with Local Government
and other agencies to best protect
Victoria.
Municipal councils
and CFA Areas work in close association to provide
efficient
and effective fire prevention and mitigation programs that reflect
local needs.
Municipal fire
prevention planning encourages partnerships
between local government, other government and non-government agencies,
the private sector and community groups. Essentially, Municipal
Fire Prevention Planning involves:
- The identification of areas,
buildings and land uses at particular risk in case of fire
- Specification
of the treatment of those identified risks
- Specification
about who has responsibility for treating those risks.
Important Note: The native vegetation removal
exemptions for wildfire safety have changed. To meet the exemption
residents must undertake a site assessment and prepare a plan
which is then lodged with DSE.
