Essential Criteria

(This criteria is subject to change and will be updated accordingly)

  • Australian Citizen or Permanent resident
  • Full 'Manual' drivers Licence
  • Successful completion of the National Police record check
  • Preparedness to locate into any CFA integrated Fire Station at the completion of the 16 week recruit Course
  • Deemed fit for firefighter duties by the CFA Medical Practitioner

Essential Elements

The essential elements of our Recruitment process include but are not limited to:

  • Fitness and endurance test (9.6) on Shuttle Beep test
  • Aptitude Testing - Verbal - Arithmetic - Mechanical reasoning
  • Firefighter Challenge and Screening Interview
  • Interview by a senior CFA Panel
  • Police National record and work reference check
  • Pre Employment Medical
