Funding and CFA
CFA works closely within the community to maintain an effective
emergency management agency for Victoria. This is CFA’s core
business. To undertake this valuable service, funding is provided
by the Victorian Government and by the Insurance Industry contributions.

Other sources of funding are obtained through:
CFA recognises the value of its brand and the community we reach.
Companies keen to develop a relationship with CFA and be involved
in this market are encouraged to contact the Marketing Department
to discuss sponsorship.
Sponsorship
Sponsorship involves the provision of money, goods
or services to CFA, in return for agreed commercial benefits to
the company i.e. sponsor.
Sponsorships are customised to ensure the relationship is successful
for both parties, and involves a minimum period of three years.

Donations
Donations are always gratefully received and are a tremendous
help. Many companies provide valuable cash, materials and services
to support our work. A donation is defined as free goods or money
with no benefits required by the giver. Donations over $2.00 are
tax deductible.

Fundraising
Fundraising is used by brigades to raise extra funds in their
local community. It is not undertaken on a statewide basis. Fundraising
means any form of appeal, collection, raffle or activity conducted
in order to obtain income by selling specific goods or services
with a percentage return to the “seller.” Companies
or businesses with a fundraising initiative should contact their
local brigade, group or regional headquarters.
