How to support CFA

CFA receives support to keep our communities safe in all kinds of ways – from donations to fundraising, sponsorship and employers being flexible with their staff who are volunteers.Thank you to everyone who supports our people and our organisation. 

If you're interested in supporting CFA, here is some information to get you started.

Donations

Donations (free goods or money with no benefit required by the giver) are always gratefully received and are a tremendous help. Many companies provide valuable cash, materials and services to support our work. A donation is defined as free goods or money with no benefits required by the giver. Donations over $2.00 are tax deductible.

Fundraising

Fundraising is undertaken by brigades to raise extra funds in their local community and by the community to raise money for your local brigade, group, district, region, or CFA as a whole. 

Fundraising involves any form of appeal, collection, raffle or activity which raises funds by selling goods or services from which a percentage is returned to the seller.

If you're interested in fundraising for CFA, please read the Fundraising Kit (PDF 696k). It will help you understand and meet CFA and the government’s fundraising guidelines and minimise risks to yourself and CFA.  You should also make sure that you fully research what is required of you when conducting a fundraiser, such as adhering to the Fundraising Act 1998 and associated Regulations

Sponsorships and partnerships

CFA is fortunate to receive support in the form of sponsorships of events and other activities and initiatives from around our community.  We also often receive enquiries from groups and organisations about potential partnerships.
